Parenting Education Packages for Young Children
There’s more to parenting than knowing what to do
If you’ve reached the point where you know you want to do things differently, but you’re not sure how – then you’re in the right place.
For the parents who want more than a quick answer to a parenting question, I’m pleased to offer parenting education packages. This service provides parents with a supportive, practical outlet for learning how young children think, feel, communicate, and develop – all while building strategies you can actually use in everyday family life.
Through application exercises and in-depth discussion, you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of your child while also building your own confidence and awareness as a parent.
I offer flexible 6 or 12 session packages where we’ll focus on either your family’s specific need or a core parenting interest of yours. There’s no syllabus, no book, no PowerPoint… Just the parent(s) and me and a tailored experience targeting your biggest questions or concerns in a way that is therapeutic and deeply informative.
Parenting education is not a lecture-style session where you ‘sit down and listen’ while I go through my child psychology presentation. Far from it! Parenting education sessions with me are immersive, interactive, and very practical. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, explore what’s happening at home, develop your own personal plan and/or framework, and work through real-life parenting situations.
This is a one-on-one collaborative time where we meet weekly or bi-weekly for 6-12 weeks to focus on helping you build the foundational knowledge necessary for navigating parenthood in a way that aligns with your values.
Who can come?
Either or both parents. My philosophy is, the more the merrier. If it makes sense to bring the grandparents or the co-parents or the step-parents to a session or two, please do. There may even be a few sessions where it makes sense to bring your kiddo – and that’s fine, too. After our initial intake session, we’ll determine what makes the most sense for you and come up with a plan to support your goals.
From supporting your child through a particular developmental transition to ensuring an adopted child integrates successfully and happily with your family, I’m here to help real families get real help for the really important things.
These parenting education sessions are especially helpful for parents wondering about how to handle/approach things like…
- Child discipline
- Reward charts
- Time-outs
- Separation anxiety
- Emotional regulation
- Boundaries
- Cooperation
- Social interaction behaviors
- Maladaptive concerns
- Parenting and neurodivergence
My parenting education service is an ideal fit for parents who want to take a more intentional and informed approach to raising their child. They know that the ages of 0-7 are their child’s formative years, and they understand that investing in their child now will help build a strong foundation for their family’s relational future.
- Parents who don’t want to be dependent on someone else’s parenting formula.
- Parents who want to be intentional with how they raise their children.
- Parents, co-parents, and blended families who want to align efforts and get on the same page with how to parent and raise their child.
- Soon-to-be parents who want to ‘do the work’ before baby’s arrival and want therapeutic support from a child psychologist to help them process through their own emotions and experiences as they plan for their family’s future.
Whether you’re a new parent, navigating a new development stage, or simply wondering whether there is a better way to approach a parenting concern, this parenting service is for anyone who wants to approach parenting with more clarity and confidence.
What can you expect?
You can expect curiosity rather than judgment, practical guidance rather than rigid rules, and plenty of room to consider what feels right for your child and your family. Parenting is serious business, and also, there is joy in the journey. Part of our work together is helping you connect or reconnect with the joy of parenting in whatever way feels authentic and right to you.
Bring all your concerns, questions, and complex feelings, and I’ll bring the developmental science and evidence-based parenting strategies. I offer a safe place where you can bring ALL your real parenting questions, including the ones you may be uncomfortable asking. Whatever is actually happening in your home matters, and I’m here to help you work through it all – the tough stuff, the wins, the ‘ugh’ moments… bring it all.
And since parenting rarely goes according to plan, we’ll leave space for flexibility, experimentation, and a little humor along the way – because sometimes, laughter is the best medicine. All our Inner Children need a good laugh from time to time. Together, we’ll help you understand your little one so you can effectively work through the situation.
My commitment to every client
Parenting effectively and lovingly is a creative process, and I’ll never hand you a one-size-fits-all rulebook. Instead, we’ll work to understand the why behind different parenting approaches, and discover what approaches and philosophies resonate best with you and your family. Our shared goal is to help you make thoughtful decisions for your own child based on your family’s unique values, personality, and needs.
You don’t have to be struggling with a major problem to benefit from parenting education. In fact, many parents seek this support because they want to be proactive. Ultimately, my parenting education service may be a good fit for you if you’re looking for a therapeutic, evidence-based approach to family guidance and parental skill building. Whether you’re navigating a serious concern, prepping for the future, or simply feel motivated to learn, reflect, and try new approaches, I’m here to help your family build a lasting legacy of connection.
If you’re curious but not sure what your next step is, that’s ok, too. Simply book a free, 15-minute discovery phone consultation, and I’ll help you determine what your next right step may be.
What are the benefits of parenting education?
The goal isn’t to become a perfect parent. It’s to become a more aware, confident, and connected one. With this in mind, the first step to ‘changing’ a behavior is understanding it – because understanding your child can change the way you parent. Understanding what ‘right’ looks like for your child helps you respond with confidence. And understanding the why behind the behavior helps you know how to connect.
Through parenting education, you can…
- Better understand your child’s developmental needs and behavior
- Feel more confident responding to challenging moments
- Build stronger connection and cooperation
- Learn practical strategies for everyday parenting challenges
- Understand your own parenting instincts, reactions, and patterns
- Develop skills that can grow with your child
Our time together won’t be focused on learning what to do, but on learning how to parent and how to be a connected parent. Yes, we’ll come up with strategies for managing the meltdowns (because we need to get through bedtime), but we’ll also build a foundation, one you can return to and continue adapting as your child grows and changes.
Connected families start with connected parents
You don’t have to wait for a parenting crisis to invest in your relationship with your child. Taking the time to cultivate your parenting skills can help you build a foundation that continues to serve your family through every age and stage to come.
If you’re interested, the first step to getting started is to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. You can share what you’re hoping to work on, ask questions, and explore whether a parenting education package is the right fit for your family. From there, I’ll help you determine the best next step.
